2023 / 05 / 16

The 10th Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award organized by Hong Kong's Mirror Post held its award ceremony on May 14th at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Entrepreneurs, experts, and scholars from different regions participated in the event both online and offline. Emperor Group once again received the "Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award", recognizing the group's efforts in philanthropy and sustainable social development.

Distinguished guests including Mr. Leung Chun-ying, Vice-chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Mr. Xu Kai, Director-General of the Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and Ms. Tsui San-ying, Executive President of Mirror Post, etc. were invited to officiate the opening of the event. With the growing global emphasis on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and the stricter requirements for listed companies by the stock exchange, Mirror Post has incorporated ESG indicators into the evaluation criteria this year, assessing the sustainable development performance of companies and organizations from the perspectives of environment, social responsibility, and corporate governance.

Under the leadership of Dr. Albert Yeung, Chairman of Emperor Group, the Group has consistently embraced the belief of "giving back to society when one has the ability." The group established Emperor Foundation in 1997 and Albert Yeung Sau Shing Foundation in 2008, organizing and supporting various types of charitable activities in Mainland China and Hong Kong. It has funded the construction of ten elderly centers and a children's welfare institution, providing care for the elderly and hospice services, aiming to ensure that the elderly have a comfortable life and receive medical care when needed. Additionally, the foundations weight education high as they provide the "Emperor Foundation Scholarship" to twelve registered universities in Hong Kong and primary schools in Mainland China over the past two decades. They have also donated to various educational funds in Mainland China to nurture talents.

With the belief that good thoughts and good deeds start from our surroundings, the Group has also launched the "Empower Community" social practice program. It encourages employees and artists of the Group and its subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China, as well as their friends and family members, to actively engage in charity work. For example, to regularly form volunteer teams to visit the elderly and share the fruits of development with underprivileged groups.

In the future, Emperor Group will continue to promote social sustainability through various means, working together with employees and stakeholders to create more shared value.
