Emperor Cup 2018: Largest offline tournament with Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan’s players, Tournament with large prize pool for new E-sports talents, No limitation on recruitment

"Emperor Cup 2018” press conference was held on 15 September, 2018 (Saturday) at MOSTown, Ma On Shan; tournament details along with prize money were revealed and marked the official opening of the second season of Emperor Cup. The press conference was joined by Mr. Eric Yeung, President of the Hong Kong E-sports Association; Mr. Ryan Chow, Chairman of the Hong Kong E-sports Association; Ms. Shirley Hughes, Chief Executive Officer of Emperor Entertainment Group; and EEG artistes Mr. Carlos Chan, Mr. Ken Hung, Ms. Angela Hui and Ms. Tsang Lok Tung.

 

The press conference also marked the 1-year anniversary of Emperor E-sports Stars, a fruitful year with encouraging achievements in e-sports teams’ operation, e-sports events participation and promotion in professional e-sports education. Mr. Eric Yeung, President of the Hong Kong E-sports Association, witnessed the rapid development and was pleased with the growth of Emperor E-sports Stars and believes the industry has great enthusiasm in promoting e-sports. Ms. Shirley Hughes, Chief Executive Officer of Emperor Entertainment Group, agreed and stated, EES has been actively promoting the development of e-sports activities in Hong Kong since its establishment and providing a platform for youngsters to develop their interest into a sustainable career; EES will continue to promote E-Sports in effort to increase positive acceptance among public.

 

The Emperor Cup is a regular annual E-sports event. Emperor Cup 2018 will hold tournaments for PUBG, "PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS" and is the largest offline e-sports tournaments with combination of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan players. In additional to the above, Emperor E-sports Stars has also expanded its team this year:  G-REX PUBG and G-REX INFINITE were also presented at the press conference along with the artistes to encourage participation in the Emperor Cup 2018.
