Dr. Albert Yeung, Chairman of Emperor Group awarded the “Most Influential Leading Philanthropist”

[29th April, 2019] Dr. Albert Yeung, the Chairman of Emperor Group was honoured the “Most Influential Leading Philanthropist” award at the 2019 China’s Charity Chart Award for his generosity and compassion in pushing forward philanthropy in Hong Kong and Mainland societies. Followed by the “Lifetime Achievement Award” and the “Leading Philanthropist of the Year”, this honorary marks another significant recognition for Dr. Yeung’s charitable achievement, as a role model and continuously influencing Emperor Group members, families and people in different social sectors to follow in his steps to practice social care and charitable works.

 

“The China’s Charity Chart Award” is organised by the news medium “China Philanthropy Times” which established since 2004 by China Federation of Social Work and operated by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. The award chart is announced every year of inspiring strengths and philanthropic spirits. Only one who has exceptional contribution and influence was able to be offered the“Most Influential Leading Philanthropist” honour for this year. Dr. Albert Yeung’s efforts in philanthropy have been well recognised by the society, which he has been bestowed both “Top Ten Philanthropists” and “China Charity Award—The Most Caring Individual Donor Award” for years since 2005. Following his leadership, Emperor Group has been shoring up its philosophy “From the Community, To the Community” by actively fulfilling the corporate social responsibility, giving back to the public, as well as giving hands to the needy and disadvantaged groups.

 

Later Dr. Albert Yeung said, “ Helping others is like helping yourself, ‘Action for happiness’ is one of the cultural values in China society. I am proud to see all our Group members and artistes have put it into practice and it has turned to be Emperor Group’s culture”, he continued saying that he will put more efforts into the philanthropy in the future, spread the service to more socially vulnerable elderly by building all-rounded hospice centers, to let those in need enjoy the autumn of their lives in dignity.

 

“The China’s Charity Chart Award“ ceremony was held in China World Summit Wing Phase Three in Beijing, this grand event brought together former awardees, business leaders and celebrities. Jack Ma, Board Chairman of the Alibaba Group, founder of the Jack Ma Foundation was also given the title of the “Philanthropist of the Year” at the event.

 

Dr. Albert Yeung first engaged in charitable works in the 70s, he founded and became Charter President of Lions Clubs of South Kowloon, bearing the spirit of a global service organization, he has been leading his club members to provide diversified services to teenagers and elders. He established the Emperor Foundation and Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation respectively in 1997 and 2008.

 

Dr. Albert Yeung has recognised that solitary senior belongs to a marginal group in the society as they cannot be able to respond fully to social care due to own conditions. To tackle this issue, Dr. Yeung has started to focus and put resource on the elderly hospice service. As of today, he has given helps on the construction of elderly care centers in Hong Kong and Mainland which included “Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation Baoding Elderly Home”, “Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation (Shunping) Elderly Care Centre”, “Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation (Xiongzhou) Elderly Care Centre”, “Albert Yeung Sau Shing (Shunping, China) Elderly Service Centre”, and “Albert Yeung Sau Shing (Changli, China) Elderly Service Centre”, all of which are located in Hebei Province. Two more in Guangxi Province are now under construction, namely “Albert Yeung Sau Shing (Yongfu, China) Elderly Service Centre” and “Albert Yeung Sau Shing (Fusui, China) Elderly Service Centre”. Together with “Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Yeung Sing Memorial Long Stay Care Home” in Hong Kong and “Albert Yeung Sau Shing (Wuhan, China) Elderly Care Centre“ in Hebei Province set up in earlier years, Dr. Yeung currently has ten nursing homes for elders under his name. Besides, he also has “Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation Baoding Child Care Centre” in Hubei Province.
