The highly anticipated film "The Goldfinger" directed and written by Felix Chong, produced by Ronald Wong and starring Tony Leung, Andy Lau, Charlene Choi (Ah Sa), Simon Yam, Alex Fong, Catherine Chau, Taibo Cheung, Carlos Chan, Philip Keung and Michael Ning, etc. had its Beijing release announcement. The film was announced to be scheduled for release on August 17. Dr. Albert Yeung, Chairman of Emperor Group Felix Chong, the film's writer and director, and Ronald Wong, the producer of the film invited the lead casts Tony Leung, Andy Lau, Charlene Choi, Alex Fong and Carlos Chan to attend the grand global release announcement held in Beijing. They officially announced that the film will have a simultaneous worldwide release on December 30 this year.

The film brings together two male lead actors, Tony Leung and Andy Lau, after a gap of over 20 years, making it a rare opportunity. The entire casts with Dr. Yeung took the stage to express their blessing for the film's great success at the box office. Dr. Yeung expressed deep gratitude, saying, "I am honored to have Tony Leung, Andy Lau, and the director Felix Chong and producer Ronald Wong in this film. It was very challenging to bring them together. I don't know when the next film with this lineup can be made!"

Director Felix Chong, who also serves as the producer, introduced the story during the announcement, describing it as a tale of how someone earns billions with just 100 dollars, a story where dreams and nightmares constantly intersect. He expressed his honor and gratitude to have Tony Leung and Andy Lau, the two remarkable actors to portray the characters after the Hong Kong classic film "Infernal Affairs". Tony Leung and Andy Lau, having established a rapport before filming, speculated that they would be playing adversaries in the movie.

During the event, three photos were showcased, documenting the journey of Tony Leung and Andy Lau from their debut in the 80’s to "The Goldfinger". Their collaboration on creating cinematic classics has occurred approximately every 20 years. Tony Leung mentioned that although they didn't have much interaction off-screen, they had great chemistry as soon as they started working together. He shared, "During the filming of 'Royal Tramp' at the beginning of my career, we were all very dedicated and hardworking. We had a heavy workload every day and hardly had time to hang out together. However, it was during this time that our bond was formed. The understanding between actors is built on trust, and even today, we are still good friends." Andy Lau agreed, saying, "Looking back from the start to 'The Goldfinger', I feel that we are still the same as we were in the beginning, with not much change after nearly 40 years." Tony Leung added that their relationship in the new film is similar to their collaboration in "Royal Tramp," where they were both allies and adversaries.

Charlene Choi, who plays a role caught between Tony Leung and Andy Lau's characters, shared her experience of discussing her role with Tony Leung before filming and expressed her awe at working with the two legendary actors. She said, "Both on and off-screen, they are my idols. Their works have accompanied me throughout my growth, and they have greatly influenced me. Whenever I work with Andy Lau, I feel secure because having him around gives me a strong sense of safety." Carlos Chan, another cast member, also expressed his excitement about working with the two actors. He said, "Twenty years ago, when the two actors collaborated, I bought tickets to watch their film for five times. Back then, I had to buy tickets to see them, and now I am fortunate enough to be part of the work and being paid to work with them. Every day after work, I don't want to leave the set because I want to witness more of Tony Leung and Andy Lau's performances!" Alex Fong briefly introduced his role and talked his feeling about working with the director and producer, expressing his hope for future collaborations.

"The Goldfinger" will be released simultaneously in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, as well as in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, UK, US, Canada, and other regions worldwide, making it the highly anticipated finale of 2023.
