Charity Foundation

Recently, Hubei Charity Federation has granted Emperor Foundation a medal and certificate for "Outstanding Contributions and Donations to COVID-19 Pandemic Prevention and Control" award, highly recognizing Emperor Group's contribution to the society during the pandemic prevention and control period.

In early 2020, facing the outbreak of COVID-19, Emperor Group has taken an active role in shouldering its corporate social responsibility. Under the leadership of Dr. Albert Yeung, Chairman of the Group, Emperor Group donated a total of CNY 10 million in medical supplies and funds to Hubei Charity Federation and Social Workers Across Borders through Emperor Foundation as early as 30 January 2020, in support of the emergency pandemic prevention work in Hubei Province and Hong Kong.

“From the community, To the community”, it has always been the Group's philanthropic philosophy. Dr. Albert Yeung, Chairman of Emperor Group, cooperated with Hubei Charity Federation as early as 2006 to open the first elderly care centre in Rongjun Hospital in Wuhan City, Hubei Province - the Albert Yeung Sau Shing (Wuhan, China) Elderly Care Centre, which provides one-stop caring services for seniors without family in Hubei Province based on a combination of medical treatment and nursing care. Later, the "Emperor Hospice Service Programme" was jointly launched by Emperor Group and Social Workers Across Borders. This is the first ever joint project between Hong Kong social workers and mainland medical practitioners. The project won “The Most Influential Charity Project Nomination Award” from the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China in 2007 and “Hubei Province Charity Award” from the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Hubei Province in 2008 because of its innovative efforts in attempting to break the death taboo in the Chinese tradition. Since then, Dr. Albert Yeung has started a decade of philanthropic work in elderly services, and has donated funds to establish ten elderly care centers and a children's home.

In the early 1970s, Dr. Yeung began his journey in the philanthropy sphere and respectively founded Emperor Foundation and Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation in 1997 and 2008. Since 1991, Mainland China has experienced natural disasters such as the East China Flood, Wenchuan Earthquake, Gansu Mudslide, and Yancheng Tornado Hailstorm, and Dr. Yang's generous support has been seen almost every time when the disasters occurred. Since 2017, Dr. Yeung has been honored with awards year after year at China’s Charity Chart organized by China Philanthropy Times included “Lifetime Achievement Award”; “Leading Philanthropist of the Year” and “Most Influential Leading Philanthropist” which took him to next level of accomplishment. In 2020, he was granted honor “Philanthropist of the Year” which has once again proved the continuous effort and contributions Dr. Yeung made to society.

Under the leadership of Dr. Albert Yeung, Emperor Group has fully demonstrated its corporate social responsibility and commitment in the smokeless battlefield of fighting COVID-19 pandemic. In the future, Emperor Group will continue to promote the spirit of philanthropy and the concept of public welfare, and will continue to contribute to the society in the fields of education, medical care, culture, environmental protection and elderly care as always.
