The devastating fire at Tai Po Wang Fuk Court has left our entire Hong Kong community in mourning. Our deepest and most sincere condolences to the brave firefighter who lost his life in the line of duty and the residents who tragically passed away. We express our heartfelt gratitude to all the first responders who fought tirelessly through the night, rescuing trapped residents and searching for missing individuals. We sincerely hope that the rescue operations proceed smoothly, minimising casualties and losses, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.
Emperor Group stands united with the community to provide care and support to the affected residents, helping them through this difficult time. Understanding that the most urgent current need for the affected residents is daily necessities, Emperor Foundation swiftly responded by donating and delivering over 1,000 sets of bedding, including new pillows and quilts provided by Ulferts, a furniture brand under the Group, in the morning today (27 November). These essential supplies have already arrived at the designated government venue, the Lung Hang Estate Community Centre, and with distribution underway to those in need. Volunteers from Emperor Foundation are actively coordinating with community organisations to fully support the government in providing appropriate follow-up assistance.
This fire has rendered numerous families homeless. To support the affected residents and stand with them on the long road ahead as they rebuild their lives, we will provide new mattresses to nearly 2,000 households as follow-up support, alleviating their post-disaster financial burden. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide corresponding assistance, and do our utmost to help them return to normality as soon as possible.
