2026 / 09 / 17

Jointly launched by Emperor Financial Services Group (EFSG), its new flagship brand Emperor Global Markets (EGM), Money Weekly and the Fudan International School of Finance (FISF), the EGM Prestigious Simulated Trading Contest was officially unveiled at Fudan University. Group Communications Director Christina Ng; Group Senior Director, Business Operations of EFSG Angela Chen; Deputy Dean of FISF and Professor of Finance Gao Huasheng; Chairman of the Media Group of Shanghai Money Weekly Chen Yue; Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Money Weekly Dai Qingmin; and former Vice President of Citibank (China) and Vice President of Shanghai Modern Service Industry Federation Pi Yigen attended the launch, alongside more than 200 industry leaders, media representatives and university students. Pioneering university-level prop trading training, the competition empowers students with a professional, real-world trading platform under the theme “Where Trading Innovation Meets Global Talent”.

For over 45 years, EFSG has been a trusted presence in Hong Kong’s financial markets, remaining steadfast in its commitment to delivering professional, diversified and trusted financial trading services. Backed by the collective strengths of Emperor Group and advances in technology, the Group believes that the sustainable growth of the financial industry depends on the cultivation of young talent, making youth development a key pillar of its corporate social responsibility agenda. The competition therefore moves beyond the traditional emphasis on investment returns alone, integrating marketing proposal development and live pitching. This is designed to expose participants to academic theory, market practice and business communication, while fostering risk-awareness, an international outlook and the innovative thinking increasingly required in today’s financial sector.

Open to undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students across all disciplines, the competition will run from 13 September to 11 December 2026, with applications closing on 16 October. The programme features awards for the top four teams, with the champions receiving a cash prize of more than RMB10,000. Members of the winning team, together with recipients of individual honours (MVP, Best Trading Strategy and Best Research Report), will also be invited to join a study tour in Hong Kong hosted by EFSG. The programme will offer participants first-hand exposure to the diverse business ecosystem and corporate culture of EFSG. In the months ahead, EFSG, Fudan University and Money Weekly will further strengthen ties between academia and industry, fostering the long-term development of financial talent.
