Dr. Albert Yeung promptly reacted to the June 23 tornado and hailstorm disaster in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province and donated RMB 5 million as disaster relief.

Tornado and hailstorm mainly struck Funing and Sheyang in the city, causing over 1,000 casualties and massive damage to buildings and roads. National Commission for Disaster Reduction and Ministry of Civil Affairs have already issued a Category 3 Disaster Alert. Dr. Albert Yeung expressed his condolences to those who had lost their families and made the donation in the name of his eponymous “Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation” in response to their urgent needs.

Meanwhile, the foundation has also funded a tour of Social Worker Across Borders, of which Dr. Yeung is Life Honorary President, to provide training to social workers and volunteers in the affected area so as to build a local relief team for long term support to the disaster victims there.

Founded in 2008, Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation supports disaster relief and elderly care in Mainland China, as well as non-profit activities related to sports, education and culture. It took part in the relief works of Qinghai earthquake and Gansu mudslide in 2010 as well as Sichuan earthquake in 2013, with donations of RMB 6 million and 1 million respectively. Also dedicated to promoting elderly care services, it has sponsored various nursing homes scattered across the mainland. These include "Hubei Hong Kong Emperor Elderly Care Centre", “Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation Baoding Elderly Home”, "Albert Yeung Sau Shing (Shunping, China) Elderly Service Centre", "Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation (Xiongzhou) Elderly Care Centre" and "Albert Yeung Sau Shing (Shunping, China) Elderly Service Centre". There are three more coming soon later this year, namely "Albert Yeung Sau Shing (Changli, China) Elderly Service Centre", "Albert Yeung Sau Shing (Yungfu, China) Elderly Service Centre" and "Albert Yeung Sau Shing (Fusui, China) Elderly Service Centre".
